ALI YORKE

Janci Miller, the artist behind Ali Yorke jewelry, grew up between Nashville, TN and spending summers at her family’s home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Today, the designer works out of her in-home studio on the cape in Wellfleet.  The oldest and only girl of 4 children, Janci has always been independent, imaginative, and artistic.

Experimenting with various mediums over the years, metalsmithing was the one that really made an impression. After graduating with a degree in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Janci moved to Rhode Island where she designed for various jewelry manufacturers creating collections for elite costume jewelry brands such as American Eagle, Guess, Macy’s, Chico’s, and Express. Working for such manufacturers enabled her to gain many skills including merchandising, marketing, advertising and fashion forecasting; all which have been beneficial in her own creative process. After 8 years designing for others, Janci decided it was time to get back to why she fell in love with designing jewelry in the first place; hands-on metalworking.  Janci spent the next few years working as freelance designer, bartending and traveling. Fortunate enough to collaborate with companies who share her vigor for an active, healthy lifestyle only motivated her more to start her own brand of jewelry. In the summer of 2015,  Ali Yorke Jewelry made its debut at local shops and galleries on Cape Cod.

Janci’s style is organic, innovative and refined. Inspiration for Ali Yorke Jewelry is derived from her love for the ocean and mountains and are continually influenced by her surroundings. Designs are classic, unique, edgy, and a personal reflection of the designers travels, muses and lifestyle.

Experimenting with patina and surface texture continues to inspire to her to try new things. Whether it is using hammers or her favorite studio tool, the rolling mill, each design takes on a unique one of a kind feel.
