ANN DOYLE

My artist journey began in childhood -- summer art classes at the Ole Village School in Chatham; painter neighbors the Snows; Andre the photographer; Dorothy, the painter who became my first

teacher in the art of oil painting, and high school mentor Vito Sammartano.

I married a Chatham fisherman, lived and worked for a number of years on the Coastal Queen, an ole oyster buy boat. Upon giving up the boat life, I returned to the Cape and met Lois Griffel, who taught and owned the Cape Cod School of Art in Provinecetown. There and then was the beginning of a great friendship and further journey into the art world I'd always dreamed of.

My art is is created to preserve some of the memories of our precious shores and fisheries in the hope that everyone's interested and efforts will keep the preservation of the seas and shores alive.
