A collective art experience celebrating our waters
October 16 – November 1
The Frying Pan Gallery presents a collective ocean-inspired art experience, a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Center for Coastal Studies.
Please join us to celebrate exciting new works by local artists inspired by the ocean and its inhabitants.
Introducing aerial ocean photography by shark spotter pilot Wayne Davis and the most recent paintings by new Frying Pan Gallery artist, oil painter Nancy Jenner.
Also included are steel sculptures by Steve Swain and new ocean-centric work by existing FPG artists Janet Lesniak, Walter Baron, Karen Capotto, Walter Baranowski, Sue Dragoo, and more.
In June of 2020, FPG owner and steel sculptor Steve Swain released his latest piece, Right Whale. On November 1st, 5% of the sales of each Right Whale that has sold since June will be donated to Center for Coastal Studies, along with 5% of the proceeds of sales from the participating artists of “Coastal Brilliance”.
5% of all sales will be donated to Center for Coastal Studies efforts to protect the endangered Right Whale:
There are only about 400 North Atlantic right whales left in the world; of those, fewer than 100 are breeding females.
Ensure that the CCS Marine Animal Entanglement Response team is able to deploy its ever-ready rescue squad to help right whales entangled in fishing gear
Identify and protect important feeding areas
Assess and advance new low-risk commercial fishing methods
Understand and address underwater noise, marine pollution, and rising ocean temperatures to improve the health of these animals
