Jump into the Frying Pan!

In it you will find steel sailfish, stripers, tuna, bait-fish, horseshoe crabs and more by artist/owner Steve Swain, as well as paintings, etchings, jewelry, furniture, photographs and more by other Cape Cod artists and artisans.

Situated in the historic harbor area at the end of Commercial Street and across from the Town Pier, the Frying Pan provides a new outlet for local art, in an old wrapper.

The building was originally assembled in the early 1900s by Wellfleet oystermen with pieces washed ashore from nearby Billingsgate Island. Many other structures were floated off this once great Cape Cod town when it succumbed to erosion and was finally submerged. The last intact Oyster Shack existing in the Harbor area, the gallery building was fully restored by owner Steve Swain as a follow-up to the renovation of the old “Spit and Chatter Club” oyster shack which is now the beating heart of neighboring restaurant, Pearl.
